BLUEBERRY ALE (5% ABV)
Presentation : often served with fresh or frozen blueberries.
Pours golden-orange with a fine white head. Aroma of fresh blueberries, blueberry bread (floury), crystallized sugars and pepper. Sweet flavors dominated by mild blueberries with a malty background. Sweet fruity aftertaste with hints of pepper. Light-medium body, creamy and refreshing.
Our Blueberry Ale is better enjoyed as an aperitif or with dessert. Keeping an open mind, it fits nicely with food plates which are slightly sweet in flavours (like some Cantonese dishes), or with any meat when served with a fruit based sauce (preferably blueberry, such as our Blueberry Ale Sweet and Mild BBQ sauce offered at our Barnyard BBQ) or with fruits in the stuffing.
Some nice pairings: Cheese cake (with or without fruits), crème Brulée, Wensleydale cheese with Blueberries.
CADIAN ALE (5% ABV)
Bright Golden color. Aroma of honey and malt, over nutty and fruity (apricot) tones. Sweet flavors from the malt, suggestive of toasted bread, with honey notes. Slightly bitter with a bready aftertaste.
Our Cadian is very versatile. It is well enjoyed as an aperitif, with most cheeses and all dishes showing light flavors.
Some nice pairings: any chicken and seafood dishes; cheeses such as Reblochon, Fol Epi, Raclette, Gorgonzola, Manchego, Mimolette, Champs Doré, St-André, etc.
SCOTCH ALE (4.8% ABV)
Deep amber color. Smokey aroma (reminiscent of scotch) with light scents of toasted malt, nut and caramel. Flavors of caramel, molasses and nuts, followed by chocolate. Burnt notes and smoked aftertaste.
Our Scotch Ale is unique in its style. It is better enjoyed with all barbecued and smoky meat dishes.
Some nice pairings: smoked ribs, beef Jerky and Brezain cheese.
FIRE CHIEF'S RED ALE (5.5% ABV)
Reddish - brown color. Pronounced malty aroma over nutty - almond, brown sugar and toasted bread scents. Toffee flavors, nutty, followed by light chocolate notes and a bitter after-taste (piney-citrus).
Our Red Ale is full body, round and velvety. It will match nicely with rich dishes as well as spicy ones.
Some nice pairings: Pasta, pizza, nachos, grilled steak, burgers, Cajun ribs; cheeses such as St-André, Geai Bleu (Bergerie aux Quatre-Vents), Brie de Meaux, Mimolette, Parmesan, Tomme de Cidre, Gabriole de Chèvre, etc.
SPECIAL OLD BITTER (5% ABV)
A deep honey-coloured unfiltered west coast style session beer with the classic fresh aromatic hop bouquet mingling with malty undertones for excellent balance finishing with a pleasant lingering bitterness. A great thirst quencher or the perfect buffer with spicy foods!
